Educational Grant Requests

The Medicines Company’s purpose is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and contribute to the economics of healthcare by focusing on the leading acute and intensive care hospitals worldwide. Consistent with this purpose, The Medicines Company is committed to supporting health science education that improves patient care and advances medicine by providing valuable information to healthcare professionals (HCPs) about current practices and new developments in science, medicine, and healthcare. The Medicines Company supports such education through our Independent Health Science Education Grant Program. Educational grants provided by The Medicines Company must support scientifically rigorous and independent educational initiatives that are intended to improve patient outcomes and HCP performance in therapeutic areas relevant to The Medicines Company’s strategic objectives, including:

– Cardiology, and

– Infectious Disease.

The Medicines Company’s educational grants must comply with the applicable requirements, guidelines, or standards issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Office of Inspector General (OIG), the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), the American Medical Association (AMA), the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), and other nationally-recognized accrediting bodies.

The Medicines Company’s educational grants are not awarded to influence, induce, or reward customers for purchasing, prescribing, using, or deciding to use our products.

The Medicines Company’s educational grants are not used to promote our marketed or development products or the off-label use of our products.

Educational grant applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the date of the event or educational activity.
